The WINK Bird Feeder by Stalen Design is a sleekly designed bird feeder on a pole, also known as a feeding station, feeding spot or feeding table. Thanks to its minimalist design with a pitched roof, it is a stylish addition to any garden or outdoor space.

Please note: the pole is not included. The CORTEN feeding pole from Stalen Design has been specially designed for our bird feeders. You can also easily purchase a suitable wooden pole yourself (Recommended diameter: Ø60–80 mm). You can easily attach the feeder to the pole using the included stainless steel screws. The roof is mounted after placement using the supplied bolts and nuts. Suitable for the garden, yard, or estate.

This bird feeder is made of 1.5 mm thick Corten steel. Outdoors, it automatically develops a protective layer of rust. This natural patina makes the feeder weatherproof and gives it a warm, robust look—ideal for those who want to combine functionality and design in the garden.

CORTEN STEEL

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
