These decorative butterflies for the wall are fully designed and made in the Netherlands, with an eye for detail, durability and style.

The BUTTERFLIES are laser-cut from 1 mm thick Corten steel, a weather-resistant metal that develops a natural rust patina. This warm layer protects the material and creates a vibrant, organic look—perfect for any garden, fence, or facade. Each butterfly measures approximately 10 x 15 cm and comes in a set of 4, allowing you to bring your outdoor space to life in a playful way.

Installation is simple: use the included stainless steel nails to securely attach the butterflies to wood, stone, or other outdoor surfaces. Thanks to their subtle design, the butterflies look as if they are truly fluttering away from your wall.

CORTEN STEEL

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
