Bring a subtle touch of nature and style to your garden with Garden Shape GORGE from Stalen Design – an elegant garden decoration, also known as a tree ornament, bird silhouette, garden figure or decorative steel for outdoors. This decorative element features a single stylized bird perched on a branch and is entirely designed and produced in the Netherlands.

The shape is precision laser-cut from 3 mm thick Corten steel, a weather-resistant metal that develops a natural rust layer. This rust layer protects the material while giving it a warm, characterful appearance. Perfect for any outdoor space where you want to subtly add life and design.

Installation is simple: Start by pre-drilling the wood and then place the garden shape using the integrated metal pin. Use a hammer for this. This does not cause permanent damage to the tree and is a tree-friendly attachment method.

Please note: The attachment pin is sharp. Careful handling during installation is recommended.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
