Post WALLY from Stalen Design is a corten steel outdoor post, also known as a wall support, wall bracket, fence mount, bird feeder support, bee hotel holder, bird feeder holder, and wall mount for a bird feeder or bee hotel. The support makes it possible to mount a bird feeder or bee hotel to a wall or fence, without a post in the ground.

This design element is made from 2 mm Corten steel. Outdoors, the steel develops a natural rust patina: a warm layer of rust that protects the material and provides a robust, natural appearance. Due to its weather-resistant properties, WALLY is suitable for gardens, balconies, terraces, and courtyards.

The support has a height of 160 mm and positions the bird feeder or bee hotel 270 mm away from the wall or fence. WALLY is compatible with several bird feeder models and the BEEPOST bee hotel from Stalen Design and comes with a stainless steel hook for hanging items such as bird feed. Please note: the bird feeder shown is not included; this is for the support only. Designed and produced in the Netherlands – pure Dutch Design.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
