This robust bird shelter – also known as a nesting box, bird box, or bird house – is specially designed to be mounted on a post. The contemporary design and the use of durable corten steel make this bird house both a functional and aesthetic outdoor object.

The FALCON Bird Feeder House is a sleekly designed nest box that offers garden birds such as tits, sparrows, or robins a sheltered and dry nesting spot. The closed construction provides protection against the elements and predators, while the timeless shape adds a modern touch to your garden.

The house is crafted from 1.5 mm thick Corten steel, a maintenance-free material that develops a warm, rust-colored patina under the influence of the weather. This natural oxidation layer protects against further corrosion and makes the birdhouse highly suitable for the Dutch outdoor climate.

Please note: the post is not included. The CORTEN feeding post from Stalen Design is specially designed for our birdhouses. Alternatively, you can easily purchase a suitable wooden post yourself (Recommended diameter: Ø60–80 mm). Using the 3 included stainless steel screws, you can securely attach the birdhouse to the post so that birds can breed or shelter safely.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
