The SOLEIL Bird Feeder by Stalen Design is a sleekly designed bird feeder – also known as a feeding station, feeding table, or bird feeding spot. This unique post-mounted model with its characteristic pent roof not only provides a great feeding spot for birds, but also serves as a stylish addition to any garden or yard. Thanks to its minimalist design and warm rust color, it fits perfectly into both modern and natural outdoor spaces.

Made of 1.5 mm thick Corten steel, the birdhouse develops a protective layer of rust over time. This patina makes the house weather-resistant and gives it a characterful, natural appearance. The durable material requires no maintenance and will last for years.

Please note: the pole is not included. The CORTEN feeding pole from Stalen Design is specially designed for our bird feeders. Alternatively, you can easily purchase a suitable wooden pole yourself (Recommended diameter: Ø60–80 mm). The bird feeder comes with 3 stainless steel screws for mounting. You can easily assemble the roof yourself using the included nuts and bolts. Thanks to the smart design and clear fastening, installation is quickly arranged.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
