The QUACK Garden Stake from Stalen Design is a stylish garden object with a playful twist. This duck-shaped garden stake, also known as a garden pick, garden decoration on a pin, or garden ornament with ground spike, instantly grabs attention. Perfect as a decorative accent in the grass, the border, or along the garden path.

This Corten steel garden stake is made of 3 mm thick steel that develops a protective layer of rust over time. This warm, natural patina not only provides a unique look but also makes the material exceptionally weather-resistant and maintenance-free. A sustainable choice with character.

The QUACK consists of one duck and is easy to install by pushing the stake into the ground – please note: the tip is sharp. The dimensions are approximately 35.5 × 29 cm (including the stake), suitable for the garden or a flower bed. Designed and produced in the Netherlands – pure Dutch Design.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
