Garden Stake EGG by Stalen Design is a corten steel garden stake in the shape of an egg, also known as a garden spike, garden pin, garden ornament, garden decoration, lawn stake, corten steel garden figure, and metal garden statue. This small design element is ideal for expanding the CHICKEN FAMILY Garden Stake with an extra element in the grass, border, or along a garden path.

The garden stake is made of 3 mm Corten steel. Outdoors, this material develops a natural rust patina that acts as a protective layer. This makes the egg weather-resistant and gives it a warm, natural look that blends beautifully into the garden.

You place the EGG Garden Stake by firmly driving the pin into the grass or soil. The egg is approximately 15.5 × 4.5 cm and is supplied per piece. Please note: the ground pin can be sharp, so place the product with care.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
