The Vogelvoederhuis ULTRA from Stalen Design is a modern and durable wall-mounted bird feeder, also known as a bird feeding station, feeding table, feed station, wall birdhouse or designer birdhouse. This sleekly designed bird feeder is entirely designed and produced in the Netherlands, with an eye for detail, functionality, and aesthetics.

The design is characterized by a minimalist pent roof, which not only provides a contemporary look but also offers protection against rain and snow. The ULTRA model is made of high-quality Corten steel with a material thickness of 1.5 mm – strong, weather-resistant, and low-maintenance. Over time, the steel develops a protective layer of rust that gives the material a warm, natural appearance.

This wall-mounted model is easy to attach to a wall, fence, or facade and comes with stainless steel screws and plugs, so you can get started right away. About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
