The BITE Bird Feeder from Stalen Design is a stylish wall-mounted birdhouse, also known as a feeding station, wall-mounted birdhouse, or feeding table. This compact birdhouse with a pointed roof is specially designed to offer birds a sheltered feeding spot. Thanks to its minimalist design, it fits perfectly on a facade, balcony, or garden fence.

The birdhouse is crafted from 1.5 mm thick Corten steel, a durable material that develops a protective layer of rust over time. This patina shields against the elements and gives the birdhouse a warm, natural look that blends beautifully into any outdoor space. The robust steel ensures a long lifespan with no maintenance required.

Installation is simple thanks to the wall-mounted design, which includes stainless steel screws and wall plugs. Please note: mount the house before bending the apple pin. The pin must be shaped by the customer and is intended for treats such as an apple as a natural bird snack. Choose a shady spot for optimal conditions.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
