OCRE Flower Pot by Stalen Design is a stylish outdoor flower pot, also known as a planter, hanging pot, outdoor pot, plant holder, and decorative garden pot. This design combines a terracotta flower pot with a Corten steel element, giving your garden, facade, patio cover, or balcony a warm, natural look.

The design element is made of 1.5 mm Corten steel. This steel develops a recognizable rust patina that protects against weather conditions and complements the terracotta pot beautifully. The included pot features a drainage hole and is suitable for planting. The pot is included; plants are excluded.

Flowerpot OCRE comes with high-quality rope for hanging. This allows you to easily attach a hanging plant pot to a pergola, canopy, fence, or facade. Designed and produced in the Netherlands – pure Dutch Design.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
