XENITH Bird Feeder Dish by Stalen Design is a hanging bird feeder for outdoor use, also known as a feeding dish, bird feeder tray, bird feeding station, bird drinking bowl, water dish, and hanging bird bath. This design element combines corten steel with a terracotta tray and a small terracotta bowl for a natural drinking spot in the garden.

The product is made of 1.5 mm Corten steel. This steel develops a protective rust patina outdoors and is weather-resistant. The warm tone of the Corten steel complements terracotta beautifully, giving the whole piece a calm, natural look.

The XENITH bird feeder comes with high-quality rope for hanging. The bowl is suitable for holding water so that birds can easily drink. This allows you to create a hanging water bowl for your garden, balcony, pergola, or canopy. Designed and produced in the Netherlands – pure Dutch Design.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
