The WINGS Bird Feeder Dish by Stalen Design is a sleekly designed hanging bird feeder, also known as a feeding station, bird feeding spot, or hanging bird house. Ideal for garden enthusiasts who want to welcome birds to their balcony, facade, or fence – with style and simplicity. WINGS comes complete with a terracotta dish.

This designer birdhouse is crafted from 1.0 mm thick Corten steel. Natural oxidation creates a warm, rust-colored patina that protects the material against the elements. Corten steel is weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and adds a robust, natural look to your outdoor space.

The WINGS comes fully assembled. The integrated terracotta tray offers space for birdseed or water. This compact hanging feeder combines simplicity with functionality and is perfect for any outdoor setting.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
