The QUINTA Birdhouse by Stalen Design is a modern wall-mounted birdhouse, also known as a nesting box, designer bird shelter, or decorative bird sanctuary. With its unique asymmetrical pentagonal shape and sleek design, this birdhouse is a stylish addition to any garden or facade.

Made of 1 mm thick Corten steel, a rust-colored patina forms over time. This natural protective layer makes the house weather-resistant and gives it a warm, robust appearance. Thanks to its thoughtful design, it fits perfectly in modern outdoor spaces.

Wall mounting is simple with the included stainless steel screws and plugs. Please note: choose a sheltered spot in the shade, as direct sunlight can make the house too hot. Suitable for attachment to a garden wall, balcony, or fence.

About Corten steel

Corten steel is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron enriched with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium. It is known for its distinctive rust-brown color and natural industrial aesthetic.

What makes Corten steel unique is the dense oxide film (rust layer) that forms on the surface. This layer protects the underlying material from oxygen, which significantly slows down the rusting process and allows the metal to last for years — without rusting through.

Important to know

Corten steel is supplied as standard in its original, grey metallic state (unrusted).
Minor imperfections in the corten steel (such as scratches/steel production codes) will become invisible during the rusting process.
Within approximately 1 to 2 months, a rust-coloured patina layer will form — completely natural, without any additional treatment.
During the rusting process, the material may stain surfaces or surrounding elements.
Corten steel is suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions and does not require a coating.

Maintenance tips

Let the rusting process take its course. Do not use any chemical agents or oils.
Prevent moisture stains during storage: unpack the material immediately upon receipt.
Avoid standing water on horizontal surfaces to limit staining.
Clean only with water and a soft brush if desired — do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
When mounting on sensitive surfaces: consider a spacer or edge finish to prevent rust runoff.
